To celebrate Holi, different colors and water are thrown at each other amidst fast music, drums etc. According to ancient mythology, there is a legend of King Hiranyakashipu, with which Holi is associated. Hiranyakashyap had a sister Holika. He had a sheet, which did not have the effect of fire. As directed by Hiranyakashyap, Holika sat in the fire with Prahlad.
